Reflection On The Geometry of a Dandelion

Dandelions are culturally considered weeds, yet learning to assign a different kind of meaning to them evokes a sense of wonder, empathy, and reconnection with the invisible. I never perceived a dandelion in the same after discovering that scientists discovered that the bristly tufts of its seeds create a vortex never seen before in the natural world (watch “How a Vortex Helps Dandelions Fly”). These photographs are a result of my daily observations of dandelions. When I was zooming in with my camera, I was under the impression that I was looking into the filaments of a galaxy.
