Inspired by William Kentridge’s process of depicting transformation with charcoal drawing, this animation is a collaboration between artists Holly Ewald and Alexandra Ionescu that seeks to create a poetic drawing in motion of a floating wetland and the microorganisms that develop on the suspended roots systems as a speculative exercise in thinking about how to understand the life cycle of a plant and the rhythm of its becoming.
